Extra Curricular Activities


DTDC groomed excellent debaters who have participated in AIUB, Rajuk Uttara, Viqarunnisa, IUB, BTU, RTV and many other debating competitions. Our debaters have participated in debates both home and abroad, won many best speaker awards, and brought many trophies for the school. DT has also been the Champion in the BTV English Parliamentary Debate competition. An annual interclass debate competition is held.​

Boy Scout/Girls Scout

We have weekly classes. Our Scouts have participated in different Jamborees in different countries such as USA, Denmark, Sweden, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, etc. Students learn to be independent and acquire leadership qualities.

Dhanmondi Tutorial Writers’ Club (DTWC):

The main objective of DTWC is to create a community of aspiring writers. DTWC was formed in 200_. Regular meetings are held and the members of this club publish a yearly magazine. A few of our previous editors are now working as freelance journalists in reputed dailies.


Our students participate in handball, basketball, table tennis competitions etc. 

Community Service Club

Students take on tasks to give back to their community, and their country – carrying out tasks such as collecting funds for those affected by floods, gathering aid for the needy, planting trees, food sale fundraisers to raise money for donation.

MIT launch Club

DT’s Entrepreneurship Club – which programs under the MIT Launch Club- trains the high school students to create their own startups from scratch and learn the various aspects of running a company through mentoring and hands-on experience. The club believes that age cannot be a factor that is stopping us from changing the world. DT has been the 1st school in Bangladesh to be selected by MIT Launch Club, in 2016. “Sporsho), a team from DT became the Runners-Up in the 2016 – 17 program year, in the MIT launch final pitch, competing with hundreds of other teams from around the world.

Model United Nations Club

Model United Nations in an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real-world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. DTMUN Club started in 2006/2007/ 2008 and since then, the members have participated in various national and international Model UNS, and won many ‘Best Delegate Awards.’
DT was the Champion of the MOJO Quiz Competition 2016.
The school also arranges regular Drama Festivals to encourage the performing arts.
Annual Science Festivals encourage innovative projects and interesting displays.
Our extra-curricular activities add credit to a students’ performance in school- which is appreciated both home and abroad.
